Miss World Contestants
13 November 2009. Following its launch during the Inaugural Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix earlier this month, The Yas Hotel takes centre stage again this week to welcome the contestants of 2009’s Miss World Competition.
Miss Gibralta, Kaiane Aldorino, won the coveted crown as Miss World 2009, triumphing out of 112 beautiful and talented young women in the 59th Miss World Final from Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, City of Gold.
Kaiane’s first photo call since being crowned Miss World less than 24 hours earlier in South Africa was at The Yas Hotel, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, after a brief stop-over. Miss World was a guest at The Yas Hotel together with first runner up Miss Mexico. Miss World was accompanied by 75 of the Miss World contestants, who were hosted by The Yas Hotel, Radisson Blu Yas Island, Crowne Plaza Yas Island.

The First Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix On Yas Island
1 November 2009. Yas Marina Circuit is unique. It is the only circuit in the world where a 500 bedroom, 5-star hotel actually straddles the track! During the race, The Yas Hotel guests had access to the Paddock via a purpose-built footbridge and their own entrance to the circuit.
